Jose Garcia Villa



Jose Garcia Villa is a famous Filipino poet, writer, generationalist. Villa was born in Manila, Philippines and then migrated to New Mexico in 1930. In 1933, he stated a literary magazine named "Clay". With that magaize, he was the first Filipino to be published in the United States. Villa has created many poems that have been published and is known as a well developed poet and writer to us American's as well as to Filipino's.


One book that Jose Villa has published is "Doveglion: Collected Poems (Penguin Classics)". For the title, Villa's pen names are dove, egale, and lion, which is combined in the title "Doveglion". In this book, it is filled with more the 300 poems.






Another book that Jose Villa has published is "The Anchored Angel: Selected Writings". This is another book that is filled with poetry. "The Anchored Angel" provides many essay's about his life and work.
